Sea-Beans of Fiji
The results of Ren's sea-beaning on the Coral Coast in
Viti Levu, Fiji Islands.
Ren is a young collector who has shown her seed collection at a local museum as part of a Young Collectors Exhibition in Suva city.
The unidentified
Mucuna(?) or
Dioclea(?) has temporarily been self-designated as "Ren's Bean"!
It's size is about 3 cm across and 2.5 cm tall.
Three seeds in my collection are 3.03 mm, 3.22 mm, 3.35 mm "across"...
measured at the widest point lower than, but parallel to the top, flat (non-hilum) edge of the purse
