Sea-Beans of the Bahamas

Sea-Bean "Keepers" from Windermere Island, Bahamas

Jim Winder spent 9 1/2 weeks on Windermere Island in the Bahamas, located just off the eastern coast of Eleuthera, south of Savannah Sound. The "keeper" beans (aka "shinies") were photographed by Dian Winder and kindly shared with us [the photos, not the beans!]. Also found, but without photos here, were 36 seahearts with "several over 2 inches across. Kinda cool".

Note from Ed Perry:
Mucuna cf urens might even be another species yet to be identified, I suspect they are something a little different from the usual M. urens. Assistance with sea-bean identification courtesy of Ed Perry
